At Stepney Hill Farm we take a decidedly “old fashioned” approach to the way we rear our meat. We encourage a natural rearing process where our cows, sheep, and pigs are allowed to develop naturally and live comfortable, stress-free lives. Ultimately this makes for delicious tasting meat, the likes of which you simply can’t find when farming to mass-production deadlines.

We accompany our animals to our trusted local abattoir, ensuring the minimal possible stress. The highly experienced and professional team there ensure a swift, painless kill, and we are always able to make sure we get our own carcasses back. Our skilled team of butchers are then able to cut, pack, and process the meat to your requirements and specifications.

Lamb

At Stepney Hill Farm we have various breeds of sheep, including Swaledale, Easy Care and Mules. Our lambs are reared naturally and slowly, feeding on their mother’s milk, and weaned onto natural grass at around 5 months old. North Yorkshire’s lush grasses are perfect for feeding, which helps contribute to what we feel is some of the best-tasting lamb in the world. We hang our lamb on the bone for 2 weeks for peak fat marbling, succulence, and flavour.

Beef

Intramuscular fat is a key element of perfect tasting beef, and Stepney Hill Farms are experts at encouraging the perfect marbling in our meat. Our Limousin and Belgian Blue cattle graze freely on pastures rich with clover and natural wildflowers. Our beef is hung on the bone for 4 weeks, to ensure time for the flavour to mature as perfectly as possible.

Pork

Stepney Hill Farm has one breed of pig, the Tamworth Pig – a breed we happen to believe makes for some of the most delicious pork in the world. Whether it’s for sausages, bacon, pork chop, or any other cut of pork you crave, we make sure that every bite is delicious, and you have complete peace of mind that it has responsibly reared.
